WE'RE GETTING MARRIED

OUR LATVIAN WEDDING
ELLIOT & SABINE
We're absolutely thrilled to be having our wedding in Latvia next summer. Sabine lived in Latvia until the age of 27 and over the course of our relationship, we have visited many times and can't wait to share this gem of a country with you. We really want our wedding to be an experience for everyone, not just a wedding, but also a fantastic time away, having fun with new and old friends, and making memories together.
Below you will find a summary of the important details like the schedule and FAQ.
EDINBURGH ENGAGEMENT
HOW IT BEGAN
Sabine & Elliot met in Edinburgh in 2021 after matching on Bumble. It wasn’t long before Sabine asked Elliot to move in, and their fate was sealed. From Bali to the Azores, and most recently campervanning through the Alps, life together has been anything but dull. In 2023, they bought their first home together in Dunfermline, where they now happily live with their two best boys, Jacob and Hugo.
ABOUT US (Written by each other)
Sabine — lover of fashion, flowers, and computer code. When she’s not solving “something far too complex for Elliot to understand,” she can usually be found at her favourite pastry shop. With an insatiable appetite for sourdough bread, pistachio croissants, and shockingly expensive olive oil, Elliot knows there will always be something exciting waiting for him in a brown bag when he gets home late from work. An avid fitness pursuer, she’s often mistaken for a fleeing gazelle as she prances through the glens of Dunfermline.
Elliot is a perpetually running engine — full of energy, ideas, and endless curiosity. His interests are as wide-ranging as his enthusiasm, spanning photography, DIY home improvements and general nerding out with his gadgets and games. Elliot says “yes” to every opportunity life brings his way. A perfect adventure companion, he adores all animals — especially dogs and has a slightly odd obsession with goats. A true Libra, he’s an ardent defender of justice and simply can’t tolerate unfairness. You have been warned.

TĒVA MĀJAS GAROZA
(OUR WEDDING VENUE)

Our venue, surrounded by forest and on the coast, is about 1 hours drive from Riga. There are very few shops nearby, so it’s best to bring along everything you’ll need for comfort. The venue has twelve double bedrooms and a large dorm upstairs. During your stay, you’re encouraged to explore the area. There’s also a sauna + hot-tub on-site, and we plan to have beach games, SUP boards + bikes available for guests to use.
All food and alcohol will be provided during the wedding (Friday night/Saturday/Sunday AM).

FAQ
Q: How do we get from the airport to Central Riga?
A: We recommend getting a taxi. Alternatively, you can catch the bus or use the Bolt app.
How do we get to and from the venue?
We will help arrange transport for anyone who doesn't have a rental car. Departing at 2pm. The journey takes around 1.5 hours. On Sunday, there will be a return trip departing the venue at 12:00.
What about accommodation?

Everyone can stay at the wedding venue (Friday/Saturday night). For those arriving before, you just need to find your own place whilst in Riga. We recommend looking in The Quiet Centre. This is where all the best cafes, restaurants and bars are. It's also walking distance to the pub we are meeting at Thursday night.
What's the dress code ON THE DAY?
Think colourful, summer suits for the guys — we’re going for laid-back summer vibes rather than black tie. For the ladies, flowy dresses in bright or pastel tones will fit the setting perfectly. It’ll be warm, so light fabrics like linen or silk are ideal.

What is the Traditional Latvian Mičošana Ceremony?
In Latvian culture, this ceremony symbolises the transition from bride to wife. There will be folk music and we will dance and play games around a fire. We are currently not planning any sacrifices.
Do I have a +1?
All guests will be named on the invitations, sorry no extra +1s. As much as we love your kids, we are only able to accommodate children from our immediate family.

What's the weather like in July?
July’s usually warm and sunny in Latvia, with temperatures sitting around 20–25°C most days. You can expect long daylight hours and plenty of sunshine, but the odd shower isn’t unheard of. We recommend bringing a light jacket just in case.

Thank you for coming! We're looking forward to seeing you SOON. Any questions, let us know!
