Edinburgh Castle Wedding

When I first relocated to Edinburgh, my dream was to shoot a wedding at Edinburgh Castle. Two years later and my wish finally came true! Hooray.

Before the wedding, I booked a meeting with the Event's manager, Alex, who was pleased to show me around the space. I found out lots of useful information, firstly, there are apparently three spaces for weddings i) The Gatehouse Suite ii) The Queen Anne Building and iii) St Margaret's Chapel.

I found out that drone footage is not permitted (boohoo, but I understand why, it's still an active army base) so if you're imagining standing on the top of Edinburgh Castle holding a flag and bottle of whisky while you pear down on the tourists below, it's likely not going to happen from the air.

Natalia & Norman,  decided on the Gatehouse, which was once an old court room. The space was tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the castle. It was the perfect space for an intimate ceremony with its very own private roof terrace.

I started the day by visiting Natalia and her ladies who were getting ready at the tasteful No9 boutique hotel and restaurant. Natalia had chosen an absolutely stunning Pronovias dress (just wait until you see Norman's reaction as she walks down the aisle).

After the ceremony, we headed out onto the terrace for some very windy portraits and group shots. The light was amazing and everyone was in good spirits. We were then given the opportunity to take portraits in the public access areas which was brilliant! Natalia and Norman turned quite a few heads I must say!

Afterwards, everyone jumped in taxis and made their way back to No9 where they had speeches, followed by an exquisite 7 course menu and folk music. What a wonderful day to be part of.
