TWO WEDDINGS, ONE UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND
When Meera & Ross first got in touch two years ago, I was thrilled to hear about their plans for a two-day wedding celebration. They had planned not just one, but two complete weddings: day one, an Indian wedding; day two, a traditional Scottish wedding. With so much time and attention poured into every detail, it was a real pleasure to be part of the whole experience.

Day 1 – The Indian Wedding
With Meera’s family being Indian, it was important to them to have a full traditional wedding. Meera wanted the weekend to be a perfect blend of Scottish and Indian culture, giving her international guests a true taste of her beautiful home here.
After a long search, they chose Achnagairn Castle just outside Inverness in the Highlands. A truly incredible Scottish castle venue, right in The Highlands. The day itself was bursting with colour, tradition, and incredible food. The outdoor ceremony under a traditional mandap was a particular highlight for me. The vibrant pinks looked stunning in the edit. There was joy, tears, and children running around having the best time ever. To top it all off, the weather was absolutely perfect.

Day 2 – The Scottish Wedding
For the second day, Meera & Ross envisioned more of a royal, editorial vibe. Meera wore a white dress while Ross donned his kilt — and together they pulled it off effortlessly.
Think white florals, moody candlelight, and a reception that completely surprised their guests. They had managed to keep the reception room hidden until day two, and the reveal was unforgettable. Both days had a completely different feel, but together they created a wedding weekend that their guests will never forget.

ISLE OF SKYE ADVENTURE SESSION
The couple also decided to add on an adventure session. For this, we travelled all the way up to the Isle of Skye. It was a special one for me — I arrived late at night to their remote Highland lodge, shooing sheep off the road as I made my way there. They kindly put on a meal for me, and we spent the evening chatting and planning for the following morning. The idea was to get up for sunrise and drive 30 minutes to the Quiraing viewpoint for some early morning photos.
From there, we hiked up to the Old Man of Storr — an adventure in itself. Luckily, both Meera & Ross are the adventurous type, so the hour-long climb was no problem. At the top, we were rewarded with some truly incredible, moody Scottish views. Honestly, it remains one of my favourite adventure sessions to date. If you’re wondering how long these kinds of shoots take, for locations like this (with hiking included), you’re looking at around 3–4 hours. By the end, we were all more than ready for lunch — and ended up grabbing fish and chips together on the way back.
