The day started off with Dan and his chaps getting ready at The Scotsman where we made great use of the superb cocktail bar and marble staircase. Heather and her bridesmaids got ready down the road at the elegant and bright Sandra Apartments on Queen Street (Both are fantastic locations to get ready if you're planning an Edinburgh wedding).
The ceremony itself took place in St Cuthbert's, one of Edinburgh's most iconic cathederals which boasts great access to the Princess Street Gardens. After the vows were said and confetti fell, we made our way to the beautiful courtyard for portraits where you can see Edinburgh Castle in the distance. A true spectacle to behold and one of Edinburgh Castle's best "secret" photo spots.
The newly weds jumped in a classic white cab and made their way over to their reception venue, The Royal College of Physicians, which never disappoints. As we arrived, some dark clouds had appeared which led us to change plans slightly, and have their group photographs on the grand staircase.
If you're looking for a venue that looks and feels like the interior of Hogwarts ( with a license to provide alochol) look no further than The RCPE, with its ornate library, period 'Blue room' and the truly impressive banqueting hall AKA 'The Great Room'. you'll feel like a witch of wizard in no time. The rest of their day was filled with heart-felt speeches, delicious banqueting, cake cutting and dancing. Hoorah!
